1963 was the year that changed the whisky world forever. Sandy Grant Gordon, following in the footsteps of his pioneering family, took the bold decision to bottle our exceptional whisky as Glenfiddich straight Malt and actively market it outside the UK, creating the single malt category as we know it today.
Today, our Malt Master, Brian Kinsman, has faithfully reproduced the historic taste by skilfully nosing an original 1963 sample and checking the recipe in our leather-bound 1960 ledgers. He then drew on our unrivalled collection of old whiskies to recreate exactly the famous fresh and fruity taste.
