Glenfiddich Original is inspired by the original Glenfiddich Straight Malt from 1963. This was the year Sandy Grant Gordon made the bold decision to introduce Glenfiddich as a single malt. Many see it as the first single malt, the whisky that started it all. Malt Master Brian Kinsman recreated The Original from the vast stock of matured malts at the distillery, using the original recipe found in the family archives. A notable difference from today's Glenfiddich is the prominent role of sherry casks, a practice that was completely commonplace fifty years ago.
