The 1st November 2009, the newest Glenrothes in the range - Three Decades was unvealed. The Glenrothes has historically been bottled by Vintage. This is because we know that maturity matters more than age and it is only when a whisky has fully matured in cask that the fullness of the flavours emerge. We have bottled Vintages from the 1970s, the 1980s and the 1990s. the earliest distillation bottled as Vintage was the 1971, the latest the 1998. This bottling, called 'Three Decades', celebrates all our past and present Vintage releases by combining in one bottle mature Glenrothes from each of those three 'Vintage' decades.
