Liqour
Liqueur is a type of spirits, often sweet-tasting and containing around 22% alcohol. The alcohol content of some types of liqueurs can reach 71%. Liqueurs are used as a digestive with coffee and as an ingredient in mixed drinks such as cocktails and long drinks as well as in pastries.
All liqueurs have a minimum alcohol content of 15% and a minimum sugar content of 100 grams per litre. Cream liqueurs are even sweeter and should contain a minimum of 250 grams of sugar per litre. By the way, there are no real maximum-limits on the use of sugar. Crème de cassis, for example, contains 400 grams of sugar per litre at 15 per cent alcohol content.
