Glenrothes Oldest Reserve
The Glenrothes has historically been bottled by Vintage. This is because we know that maturity matters more than age and it is only when a whisky has fully matured in cask that the fullness of the flavours emerge. We have bottled Vintages from the 1970s, the 1980s and the 1990s. The earliest vintage bottling was the 1971: the latest the 1998. The Glenrothes Oldest Reserve is exactly that: the oldest of our multi-vintage expressions, combining The Glenrothes that was distilled in different years. This first bottling is selected from spirit that came off the stills in 1967, 1972, 1977, 1979, 1980 and has been matured for at least 30 years - some much longer. The wonderful and rare casks chosen deliver a unique, personality with very mature characteristics.
