Finlaggan Red Wine Cask is a flavourful addition to this Islay distillery's offering. The naturally smoky character of this whisky is enriched with that of red wine casks, creating an interesting interplay of flavours. The casks used for this post-ripening are from Spain's Rioja, a leading wine region.

Smoky notes meet you from the glass. Woven around this you will find soft influences of red berries, oak and vanilla. On the palate, you notice a salty note that develops into sweet fruit. This then gives way to smoke. The finish is well balanced between sweetness and smoky notes.
