Dalwhinnie Double Matured, better known as the Dalwhinnie Distillers Edition, is a refined Highland single malt that undergoes a unique two-stage maturation. After ageing in traditional oak casks, it receives a luxurious finishing period in Oloroso sherry casks, adding depth, richness, and sweetness to Dalwhinnie’s famously smooth and gentle style. Bottled at 43% ABV, this double maturation creates a whisky that is soft, honeyed, and creamy, with an additional layer of dried fruits, warm spice, and light sherry warmth. It remains one of the most elegant and accessible Distillers Edition releases from Diageo’s collection.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Heather honey, vanilla, soft malt, sultanas, dried apricot, subtle sherry sweetness, and Highland freshness.
