De Molenberg Rabelo 7th Anniversary 2020

Stokerij De Molenberg 7th Anniversary Edition Rabelo: Rabelo is a limited release to celebrate the 7th anniversary of Stokerij De Molenberg. Rabelo cargo boats were used for centuries to transport port barrels from the Douro Valley to the wineries in Porto. The literal meaning of Rabelo is 'little tail', a reference to the rudder stick at the back of the boat that enables navigation. After a basic 36-month maturation in Bourbon barrels, this edition received a 28-month finish in white port barrels. The underlying notes of vanilla, oak and caramel are nicely complemented by fruity, slightly spicy aromas and enriched by a soft warm sweetness that continues to resonate.
