Glen Garioch 16 Year Old The Renaissance 2nd Chapter
The second part in this series from Glen Garioch, which showcases the spirit distilled immediately after the distillery’s reopening 1997. The idea is that a new bottle is released annually, illustrating how the spirit is maturing.
As such, the first “chapter” was 15 years old, and it has been followed by this delicious 16 year old. Matured in a mixture of sherry and former Bourbon casks, this dram serves up notes of tangy citrus fruit, toffee, milk chocolate, crème brûlée, dried apricot and toasted oak.
Bottled at a cask strength of 51.4% ABV, and without chill filtration, the whisky allows the drinker to enjoy the full flavours of Glen Garioch’s spirit.
A fantastic follow-up to the original bottling, this is a robust, powerful and spicy Highlander.
