Port Charlotte PC7 Sin An Doigh Ìleach – Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt

Port Charlotte PC7 Sin An Doigh Ìleach – Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt

Port Charlotte PC7 Sin An Doigh Ìleach – The Islay Way, Intensely Peated

The Port Charlotte PC7 Sin An Doigh Ìleach translates loosely as “this is the Islay way”—a name that perfectly captures the spirit of this iconic release. Distilled at Bruichladdich Distillery, PC7 continues the early Port Charlotte journey with confidence, power, and growing refinement.

Matured in a combination of wine casks and ex-bourbon barrels, PC7 strikes a compelling balance between raw peat intensity and layered complexity. On the nose, thick peat smoke dominates, accompanied by charcoal, sea spray, and earthy notes, followed by hints of red fruit, oak, and gentle sweetness from the wine casks.

The palate is robust and oily, delivering waves of smoky peat alongside flavours of dark berries, roasted malt, cracked pepper, and subtle vanilla. Maritime salinity and earthy undertones anchor the whisky firmly in Islay tradition, while the cask influence adds structure and depth.

The finish is long, smoky, and warming, with lingering ash, spice, and a touch of dark fruit. Port Charlotte PC7 Sin An Doigh Ìleach is a defining release for peat lovers—bold, expressive, and unapologetically Islay in character
