This is extremely concentrated and very aromatic thanks to its 9 years of tropical maturation on the island of Réunion in the Indian Ocean, followed by a further period of continental maturation in Europe. At the end of maturation, this rum has the advantage of a 33-month finish in second fill Pedro Ximenez casks. The finish gives it a sweet, winey, soaring and juicy side to an otherwise dark spicy, balsamic and very hot rum. Furthermore, this rum is peppery, rich with notes of liquorice, eucalyptus, camphor, coffee and dark chocolate… it is sweltering and deep oak.
