Compagnie Des Indes Mauritius 9 Year
Since the early 2000s, rums from Mauritius have undergone a dramatic change. Indeed, until then, and by virtue of a law dating from the British colonial era, rums had to be distilled at more than 93°! One can imagine that these have returned to more "normal" titers since the abolition of this law, which is curious to say the least... This is the case with this 9 year old selected by the Compagnie des Indes, which is 42°.
Made in columns from molasses in a secret distillery in Mauritius, it is well balanced and fruity. Colour: A beautiful amber colour. Nose: Salted butter caramel with black pepper and cumin make for a seductive invitation to taste. Palate: Red fruits and fresh cane invade us from the first sip. A charming fruity register for this aged rum. Finish: A slight bitterness that gives it its complexity.
