How it is made
The 12 Year Old is matured entirely in hand-selected, air-dried ex-bourbon casks, mostly second-fill American oak. These casks let the distillery's fresh, coastal character show through instead of covering it with heavy wood.

Old Pulteney stands in Pulteneytown, the harbour planned for the herring fishing trade, at one of the most northerly distilleries on the Scottish mainland. The nickname Maritime Malt has followed the whisky ever since.
