Glengyle Kilkerran - Campbeltown Single Malt Batch

€100,00
Tax included.

William Mitchell, a Cambeltown farmer, built his own distillery, called Glengyle, in 1872. He already had experience as a whisky distiller through working with his brother John, both owners of the Springbank distillery. After an argument with his brother, William decided to start his own distillery under the name Glengyle. In 1919, he sold the distillery to Highland Distillers Ltd, who closed it due to the deteriorating economy, and on 8 April 1925 the last stocks were sold. In 1940, the remaining buildings were leased to the Campbeltown Miniature Rifle Club, which installed a shooting range there.

Colour: golden.

Nose: Particularly bright and fresh start with some oily and oily notes of wax, lime, wet stones, linseed and motor oil, freshly cut grass and light aromas of cider apples and something vanilla from the wood. After a while, some more fruit aromas and notes of orange squash emerge.

Flavour: distinctive (Springbank) notes of oranges, oily and oily, paraffin wax and aromas of cloves and marzipan. The finish is long with some more smoky grassy notes and slight (green) bitterness that blend nicely with the other nose and flavour aromas.
