Balvenie 26 years Dark Barley is the oldest whisky belonging to the 'Balvenie Stories' series. In the past, by accident, a batch of heavily roasted malted barley arrived at the distillery, heavier than they normally used. This type of barley was frequently used for the production of Stout beer and not before for Balvenie whisky. Nevertheless, they decided to experiment with it.

This story eventually resulted in the development of Balvenie 26 years Dark Barley. An exquisite whisky with a refined and complex character. Enticing notes of smoke and oak are accompanied by classic hints of honey, vanilla and citrus.
