Isle of Jura 1984 19 Year Old
€709,95
Tax included.
This 19 year old sherry-finished malt was distilled in 1984 to commemorate the George Orwell masterpiece "Nineteen Eighty-Four", which he penned during his stay on the Isle of Jura.
It was here that Eric Blair, as he was known to the islanders of Jura, spent the majority of his last 3 years in a remote house whilst critically ill from tuberculosis. He sent the typescript to his publishers in 1948, which was subsequently released in 1949 shortly before his death in 1950.
Bottled in 2003, after spending its final period finishing in Palo Cortado Oloroso sherry casks, this is one of just 4,800 bottles released that comes with original carton.
