Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2013 8 Year Old
Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2013 – 8 Year Old is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich Distillery, created using barley grown on Islay itself.
Distilled in 2013 and matured for eight years, the release combines powerful peat smoke with a strong focus on provenance and the influence of its island origin.
Islay Barley and Heavy Peat
The nose delivers peat smoke, maritime notes and malt, balanced by citrus and fruit.
On the palate, powerful smoke is accompanied by sweet malt, fruit, spice and coastal salinity. Despite its heavily peated style, the whisky retains freshness and complexity.
The finish is long, smoky and distinctly maritime.
