Smokehead Rum Rebel is a rebellious single malt whisky with an experimental character. This Smokehead whisky, which lives up to its name because of the high smoke content, has been matured for several years in ex-American oak followed by a secondary maturation in ex-Rum barrels from the Caribbean. The result is a rich, smoky whisky surrounded by delicate layers of sweets and spices.
The aroma of the Smokehead Rum Rebel opens with clear peat influences, followed by sweet hints of roasted marshmallows, caramelised pineapple, fried bacon and banana. Salty, oily influences come together in the mouth with hints of smoke. Honey and lemon add body. The finish is medium-length, smoky and combines oak and fruit.
