‘Alinta’? What the heck is 'Alinta'?

Bladnoch Distillery is delighted to announce the latest addition to our ‘Classic Collection' of Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whiskies. For the first time since Bladnoch was reborn under David Prior’s ownership, we are adding a peated whisky to the range, which we have named ‘Alinta’.
This indigenous Australian word from several South East Australian language groups means ‘fire’ and ‘flames’, and evokes the notes of Campfire Embers found in each sip. Created by Master Distiller Dr Nick Savage, he explains that 'Alinta combines PX Sherry and ex-Bourbon casks to showcase the combination of these distinct flavours - it is an amazing balance of rich raisin-like sweetness and smoky campfire that sets it apart from anything else in Bladnoch’s selection of single malts
